Step 1: Science
Living Things
We learned about the lungs this year. Then we made a model of the lungs and we did an experiment to find out our lung capacity.
Energy and Forces
We learned all about the history of electricity and added it to our class timeline.
We also learned to identify the symbols in a electric circuit and how to draw our own electrical circuits the created.

Both the Junior and Senior Room investigated slopes!
Materials
Heating and cooling
We completed three experiments to investigate the best insulator, the best conductor and if we could create a water fountain.

Environmental Awareness and Care/Green Schools
We were working on our water flag this year and we got it! We held a water action day on the 19th Feb.
Science Speaker
Back in November we had a visit from Carol Quish, she told us all about the Mulcair River that flows in our locality. We learned all about the flora and fauna that need it to survive.
Later in the year will be going to do hand on investigation on the bank of the river and fingers crossed we spot an otter!
*Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we were unable to go on the field trip to the river, finger crossed for next year!

We had a quiz at the end of the talk and Oran, Alex, Eva and Hannah had the highest score and won a prize.
Science Week 2019
For Science Week this year , we completed 3 simple experiments in groups to see the magic of science!
Some worked well... others not so well!
