Our School
Lackamore is a small rural school situated 5 minutes from Newport on the Rearcross road. Lackamore is a two teacher school with a unique family atmosphere. We also have a Special Education Teacher,
We offer a holistic approach to education with a child centered curriculum. Children and teachers have the opportunity to work together for more than one year which enhances the continuity of learning and the formation of positive relationships between teachers and children.
Because of the mixed age group in a class, the younger children benefit from the positive models of older children, often aspiring to their levels of capability. At the same time, the older children rise to the expectations of the younger children and teachers, being very responsible and having opportunities to lend and use their expertise.
Children mix freely and are encouraged to work and play together. They learn the joys of cooperation, which leads to good citizenship.
