Active School Committee
In October all pupils from 3rd -6th were given the opportunity to be on the Active School Committee.
Pupils had to fill out a short questionnaire about why they school be on the committee and the teachers then decided who would get the places.
8 pupils were chosen to be on the active school committee.

The first meeting took place on the 10th October, where a Chairperson and Secretary were elected.
First order of business was to create a slogan to get the school excited about obtaining the Active Schools Flag.

What do the active schools committee do?
The committee has a number of roles including
- Attend Active School Meetings
- Come up with ideas for different active activities that classes can do throughout the year.
- Organise playground leaders and activities
- Make announcements in each classroom
- Check the PE equipment and keep it tidy.

Playground Leaders
The senior class took on the role of playground leaders. There are 3 playground leaders each Wednesday.
The Active School Committee come up with the different playground activities.
We have a different activity each month.

Active Schools Notice Board
Our active school notice board is on display in the school hallway. It is used to display:
- monthly playground activities
- playground leaders rota
- sporting achievements
- active school slogan
After School - Spikeball
5th and 6th class pupils are taking part in after school Spikeball with Ms.Laumenech.
Liam McCarty Visit
We were very lucky to have the Liam McCarty and the James Nowlan Cup to visit our school on the 9th Oct.
We were especially excited to see past pupil of Lackamore Seán O'Brien. A great inspiration to future hurlers!

Cross Country Competition

From September to November , we collected the rugby sticker . We are in with a chance of winning €50,000 for school sporting equipment. Fingers crossed!
What club are you in?
The active school committee conducted the " What club are you in?" survey in February, to find out what types of sport and activities the pupils in our school take part in.
The results were tallied and the graphs were created and are on display on our active schools notice board.
