Last year we received the EU NRRP Digital Divide Grant funding. This funding was used to purchase two interactive panels for the mainstream classroom. One of the existing interactive whiteboards was moved to the Special Education classroom. We also purchased more chromebooks.

The Junior Room's film Na Trí Mhuc has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Adaptation Award!! We were also nominated for Best Junior Film and An Scannán is Fearr as Gaeilge!

Fís Film Competition 2019- Winner! - Best Costume
The Lackamore Wood Ambush.
We were learning about the Irish War of Independence and the Irish Civil War in History and decided to the tell the local story of the ambush on RIC officers by the IRA that took place in April 1920 for our Fís entry this year. The ambush took place very close to our school and we even filmed at the location of the ambush.
We attended the Fís Award in the Helix in Dublin and we were delighted to come home with the award for Best Costume! We had a fantastic day!

The Mystery of the Golden Ticket.
We were highly commended for our 2018 Fís entry " The Mystery of the Golden Ticket"- a twist on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We won an iPad for the school.

Fis Film Project
This year 1st and 2nd class entered the Fis Film competition. They made a documentary about the history of film and photography. They made it to the finals and won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Historical Reference!
On Parents' Day this year Juniors, 1st and 2nd class presented plays they had been working on with Ms. Dean.

On the Friday before the Mid Term we held a Trick or Treat for Temple Street Party. We played Snap Apple, Bobbing for Apples and The Flour Game! We had a great time but best of all we raised more than €160 for Temple Street Children's Hospital! Check out the photos here!

As part of our unit of work on spring and new life we had a visit from some puppies and some baby goats! We got to pet them, hold them and ask the farmer questions.

Reading Buddies
On Friday we started Reading Buddies. This is where younger pupils are paired with older pupils and they both get a chance to read to each other. This activity allows younger children to increase their reading ability and their motivation to read, while the older children increase their fluency and confidence with reading. Shoe Box Appeal 2013
Many thanks to all the parents, children and everyone who prepared Christmas shoe boxes for less fortunate children around the world. It was a great success and over 30 boxes were collected.

Every Friday the children have dance lessons with Ms. Carey. They have been learning Irish dancing and Line dancing and are looking forward to showing off their new skills at the Christmas concert!! More photos in the gallery!
