Last Wednesday all children from 3rd to 6th went to the County Cross Country Championships in Thurles. There was almost 3,000 children running in Thurles on that day. We competed in the extra small schools category. There was individual and team races. It was our first time at the championships and we did very well. Our third and fourth class girls team were placed third out of 26 teams. Abbie placed 5th overall and the twins Eryn and Aoife were 16th and 18th respectfully. Everyone tried their best and everyone finished their races. It was an enjoyable day and we are already looking forward to next year.
We had a WSE-MLL on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 16th, 17th and 18th of September. Our inspector was Carmel O Doherty. It was a fairly pleasant experience and the children loved giving their views on the school. We received our Oral Report on Monday 22nd September and it was positive. We are awaiting our written report at the moment.
Yesterday was our sports day. There were four teams: Brilliant Blues, Gangster Greens, Radiant Reds and Lightning Yellows. There were a lot of games to play: Tag rugby, obstacle course, water relay, the egg and spoon race, the 3 legged race and penalty shootout. My favourite one was the clothes relay.
