This week we talked about research! A key part to Genius Hour. We discussed what research is, what we can use to complete our research and how we record our research. Each pupil had to write down three topics that they would need to research for their projects , so they would be ready to begin the following week. Check out the video below that shows what our Genius Hour projects are. All of the genius hour project need a driving question. It is a question that you can't just google the answer to but google can help in your research to finding out the answer.
This week pupils wrote a question based on their passions and interests from last week. With feedback from the teacher(me) and each other there were able to write some brilliant driving question that should hopefully end up as some fantastic Genius Hour creations! This week we talked about and discussed our passions and interests ! What we would all do for the day in school if we could do anything we wanted. Not surprisingly PE and computer games came up quite a bit, but so did Art, History and Writing. We brainstormed out interest, what we were good at and challenges we have. Our passions and interest are important because they will be the basis of our project for Genius Hour! Check out the video below about what people can do if they are passionate enough about something! Today the children were introduced to Genius Hour. What it is and what it will involve?
There was great excitement and the ideas were already flowing.
It should be an exciting and interesting few months. Can't wait to get started! |
